Are You New to Hillsdale?
Want to be part of our family?
We all long for a place where we can feel at home spiritually.
At Hillsdale, we invite you to take your time and learn how.
Step 1: Worship
Whether you are a life-long believer or totally new to this thing called Christianity, we are all united in our search for meaning and purpose in our lives.
At Hillsdale, we believe that our search is better-focused when we are regularly fed spiritual food.
At a bare minimum, we all need a weekly "dose" of worship.
We encourage you to make Sunday morning worship a major priority, so your search won't stall.
We need upward momentum to move us closer to God, so give your heart a chance with regular Sunday worship.
Step 2: Exploration
We strongly encourage you to take your time and "check out" our church.
Jesus asked us to look for fruitfulness as a sign of His followers.
We think you will see lots of fruitfulness at Hillsdale.
Once you're ready to explore a little more deeply, attend Dessert With the Pastors, where you will spend a couple of hours discussing our Christian beliefs, our Methodist foundation, and the history of this church with Lead Pastor Jerry Webb, New Story Campus Pastor Scott Osterberg, and Assistant Pastor Kel Billings.
Step 3: Membership
During Dessert, you will receive a booklet and paperwork about membership.
If Hillsdale UMC is where you believe God is calling you to be planted as a member of the body of Christ, please contact our office to begin the paperwork.
To make your membership covenant official, you will schedule a Sunday service to be received by our congregation as a new member of Hillsdale UMC.
Then, we strongly urge you to take the next Network class, where you explore how God has wired you for ministry.
Your contact for these steps is Kel Billings, or at the church office, 998-4020, ext. 324.
Step 4: Discipleship & Service
It’s okay to be where we are, it’s just not okay to stay there.
Our goal is to become spiritually mature disciples of Christ – "conformed to the image of God’s son."
So we also encourage an idea called “Worship Plus 2” where in addition to Sunday worship services, you choose two additional spiritual activities each week: an “inhale” for spiritual growth through our variety of
We do this by ‘breathing in’ with intentional discipleship study and by ‘breathing out’ with intentional service to express our gratitude to God.
