Missions
Ongoing Programs
Here are a few of the programs in which our Missions Team is involved on a regular basis:
- Monthly financial support of A Storehouse for Jesus
- Monthly financial support of Jacques and Valentine Umembudi, a bush pilot in the Congo in Africa who transports missionaries and supplies (Wingspan Ministries)
- Monthly financial support of United Methodist agencies such as: Africa University Fund, Black College Fund, World Service Fund, Ministerial Education Fund, Interdenominational Cooperation Fund, UMAR homes for the mentally challenged, and the UM Committee on Relief (disaster relief agency)
- Assistance for local families (not necessarily church attendees) who have exhausted all sources of help, in the form of paying for medicine, heating fuel, gasoline, electricity, groceries, house payments, and school supplies from the Missions Team budget
- Crisis response for disaster relief efforts
- Monthly collection of food and household items for A Storehouse for Jesus to keep their shelves stocked
- Periodic building and construction projects in the area
- Support of annual summer missions trips
- Monthly collections for the following ministries:
- A Storehouse for Jesus - Follow Monthly Food Plan *Check back for list
- Operation Christmas Child - One Item a Month Collection *Check back for list
- Jail and Prison Ministries - Small toiletries (like trial and hotel size)
- * Please bring items and place in the designated baskets in the church lobby found near the bathrooms.
Seasonal Programs
We invite you to put your faith to work in producing fruit through serving with us in Missions.

There are many opportunities for people who cannot commit to a regular schedule of serving. Consider these seasonal programs:
Thanksgiving Dinners: Donate and collect food items sufficient for a family to provide a robust Thanksgiving Dinner meal – in conjunction with Storehouse for Jesus.
Christmas Gifts: Donate Christmas gifts for the needy – in conjunction with Storehouse for Jesus.
Operation Christmas Child: We support Samaritan’s Purse, who distributes shoeboxes to needy children throughout the world at Christmas, by being a Shoebox Collection Site for Operation Christmas.
In every category, we need volunteers not only to help by donating items, but also to assist with organizing, promoting, and implementing the programs.
