Take the Right Steps
We all long for a place where we can feel at home spiritually.

At Hillsdale, we invite you to take your time and learn how.

Step 1:  Worship

Whether you are a life-long believer or totally new to this thing called Christianity, we are all united in our search for meaning and purpose in our lives.  We strongly encourage you to take your time and "check out" our church, making Sunday morning worship a major priority, so your search won't stall.

Step 2:  Exploration

Jesus asked us to look for fruitfulness as a sign of His followers. We think you'll find lots of fruitfulness  at Hillsdale. Once you're ready to explore a little more deeply, attend Dessert With the Pastor, where you will spend a couple of hours discussing our Christian beliefs, our Methodist foundation, and the history of this church with Lead Pastor Jerry Webb.

Step 3:  Membership

During Dessert, you will receive a booklet and paperwork about membership. To make your membership covenant official, you will schedule a Sunday service to be received by our congregation as a new member of Hillsdale UMC.  If Hillsdale UMC is where you believe God is calling you to be as a member of the body of Christ, please contact our office to begin the paperwork.

Step 4:  Discipleship & Service

It’s okay to be where we are, it’s just not okay to stay there. Our goal is to become spiritually mature disciples of Christ – "conformed to the image of God’s son."  We do this by ‘breathing in’ with intentional discipleship study and by ‘breathing out’ with intentional service to express our gratitude to God.  At Hillsdale, we “inhale” for spiritual growth through our variety of Programs & Ministries and an “exhale” in service through serving in Missions.
