The mission statement of Hillsdale Church is to "Pursue God and love ALL people into a relationship with Jesus Christ." It leads me to think about the power of teaching children about missions. Our kids grow up learning and growing through difficulties sharing, caring, and showing compassion. We teach our children to love one another as Jesus loves us. We sing songs to the children reminding them of God's widespread love that goes beyond any nationality, gender, or socioeconomic level.
From my childhood, I remember singing again and again about "He's got the whole world in His hands." I didn't understand this concept at the time - in fact I remember thinking that God cradled the earth in a physical way. Now that I am older, I see the power of missional connection more clearly than ever before. The whole world in His hands. And yet, we are the hands and feet of Christ.
As the Creative Connections Director at Hillsdale Church, one of my missions is to continue to connect the local church to the global community - through local acts of service, daily acts of kindness, and global missions initiatives.
You have the hands and feet of Jesus Christ for tools. How will you use them?
